This is an Island that holds a special place in our heart. We have hosted many trips to this island and have become friends with the guides and staff of the lodge. Pittstown Point is a point that jaunts out of the northwestern side of the island. Off the point is a very old light house that was relit only a few years ago. The lodge sets in one of the most picturesque places on earth facing this light house.
The island sets next to another well known island Acklins and with Crooked Island forms the Bight of Acklins. Inside the bight is an enormous area of flats, creeks and channels. The bight has hundreds of square miles of flats. These flats are teeming with huge schools of unpressured Bonefish. We have fished these Bonefish in both spring and summer and always find schools of true 3 to 4 pound fish. There is the occasional school of Bonefish in the 4 to 8 pound range as well. There are only two fishing operations on Crooked Island and with the sheer enormity of the flats area it allows an angler to cast to a lot of fish that have rarely if ever seen a fly.

Turneffe Flats in Belize
This was the first destination for Wildcat Creek Outfitters many years ago. We have had some of our best trips in Saltwater at Turneffe Flats. If you have never been to Belize then you are missing one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean. Turneffe Island is a small atoll off the coast of the main coast of Belize.
Our best Permit trip of all time was not to Ascension Bay it was to Turneffe. Ascension Bay is a wonderful destination but the Lagoon behind Turneffe Island is as good if not better. Turneffe also has a great migratory Tarpon fishery in May, June and July and it also has resident Tarpon throughout the year. The last trip we did our group hooked 27 Permit, that's right 27!!! We fished to schools of 150 to 200 fish with those fish going between 15 and 30 pounds. My personal best Permit is 28 pounds from Turneffe.

Five Rivers Lodge
This is the signature lodge for Wildcat Creek Travel. Most of our staff has traveled to Five Rivers multiple times and believe it to be one of the top fly fishing lodges in the world just not the states. If you read our criteria for lodges that we represent you will see that we judge them very strictly and think that for the kind of money you give to go to these wonderful lodges you should get your money’s worth. You definitely get your money’s worth at Five Rivers Lodge.
Five Rivers meets everything we believe is important for a lodge.
The food is not just good -- it is outstanding! Jay Burgin and Mary Jaques go to great trouble and great expense to ship in the finest food they can get their hands on. If you go just make sure you ask Jay to prepare his seared duck with raspberry sauce. I am telling you now it will make you weak in the knees. It is so good I could rub it all over my face, no kiddin’. The food is as good at Five Rivers as lodge food is anywhere not to mention they have a tremendous wine cellar. All drinks and food are included in this package which makes this a killer deal. By the way the hors d'oeuvres are out of this world.
Be careful not to fill up on those before dinner!

Cinco Rios Lodge in Coyhaique, Chile
There are very few places left in the world where a great lodge, food and fishing all meet to create an exceptional situation. The lodge at Cinco Rios, itself, is a new building that sits on a ridge overlooking the Rio Simpson. It is located about 10 minutes from the town of Coyhaique. The lodge is fantastically appointed with wonderful bedding and hot showers every night before dinner. The food is flat out as good as lodge food gets. If you read our criteria for a lodge you know what a stickler we are on food. It must be really, really good. At Cinco Rios it is really, really good! The Chileans love their meat and they do it as well as anyone. You will have a mixture of beef, lamb and chicken. The veggies and fruit are fresh and you will not go away from the table hungry. Oh yea desserts are out of this world! I know I am spending too much time on the food, but it is really that good.
