This has been a favorite of ours since it came along a few years ago. We were already a big fan of the G and was a little apprehensive of Scott getting rid of an iconoclastic rod like the G for something that might seem to loose the soul of the previous model. Boy were we wrong. From our estimation it is the best trout rod we have ever sold and are big believers in what this rod it all about. Without question the G was pure trout rod but might not creative enough line speeds at times meaning an angler had no choice but to fish his fast action rod and loose some fishablility. So along comes the G2 and voila a new “trout action” rod that also creates the proper amount of line speed, allowing the angler to use his chosen trout rod in a wider range of conditions. This is without doubt the best blend of power and fishablility on the market today. We love this rod.
