Density Compensation is something Rio started marketing as a new way of configuring fly lines almost 10 years ago. Rio kind of changed the way we thought about integrated sink tips and while most companies had integrated sink tips they weren't easy for someone with limited experience to cast.

The Rio Type 6 DC Sink Tip is the line we have used for many years in our guiding for Smallmouth and to this day love thie line, especially now that it is in a 10 foot. We used to cut a few feet off of it for medium size rivers and now don't have to. Incidently it is also a great line for stripping streamers in Western rivers.
